by Fr William R Kelly
The Mass for Children is a beautiful explanation of the Traditional Catholic Latin Mass for children.
In this full color reprint, Father Kelly gives the scriptural and historical background for the parts of the Mass. For example, when the altar boy moves the Missal from the right side of the altar to the left, he is representing the shift from the old law (Jewish religion) to the new law (Christian religion). "The Jewish religion was meant to get people ready for Our Lord. When He came, he gave us our perfect religion," Father explains.
A great First Communion prep supplement, this book would be a great gift for any child who wants to understand and follow the Mass.
Paperback, size 7" x 4.4", 60 pages, full colour illustrations
by Fr. Manousos
Originally published by the Catechetical Guild in 1954 (Imprimatur Francis Cardinal Spellman), this is a "comic" book unlike any other. Know Your Mass is a detailed, fully illustrated, step by step explanation of the Traditional Latin Mass now reprinted for the first time in full color!
The book presents the theology of the Mass in a manner easily understood by children and yet is incredibly interesting and informative for adults as well. This should come as no surprise to those who have read The Seven Sacraments, another Angelus Press reprint by Fr. Manousos, who has the amazing ability to take solid theology and present it to children...without dumbing it down. He was truly a gifted writer.
This makes Know Your Mass an excellent catechetical tool for all ages. All parts of the Holy Sacrifice are covered, from the preparation for Mass, the altar, sacred vessels and vestments, liturgical actions, the sanctuary, and some liturgical history as well, including helpful suggestions for children to get the most or should we say GIVE the most at Mass. Ideal, NO, PERFECT, as a First Holy Communion gift. Great for converts as well.
Anyone who delves into this book cannot come away ignorant of the true significance of the liturgical representation of Our Lord's Sacrifice on Calvary that is the Holy Mass. Highly recommended.

With the Church, Volume 2
The Ascension to Advent
by Mother Mary Loyola
When writing the first volume of With the Church, Mother Loyola took care to focus on the "meat" of the Church Year. Bedridden and suffering one illness after another, she could not take for granted that she would finish both volumes. How grateful we are that God allowed her the time to complete not only this book, but another--her swan song, Trust.
While this volume focuses no less on what our Lord has done for us, it does so always in the context of the burning question: what have YOU done for HIM lately? This is perhaps the most personal and immediate of her writings, with many reflections showing her readiness for death and a remembrance of those who had played a significant part in her life, such as her early mentor, Fr. John Morris, Frank Sheed and Maisie Ward, both a driving force behind the Catholic Evidence Guild, and especially Fr. Herbert Thurston, her longtime friend and editor, who at the time was in the midst of his colossal revision of Alban Butler's Lives of the Saints--which no doubt explains why this is the only one of Mother Loyola's major works that does not list him as editor.

A Tale of Love
The Theological Virtues Trilogy
by Josephine Nobisso
The richest man in the world, with the most varied and treasured art collection in existence, begets the most wonderful son who, like himself, loves and appreciates every creation they possess. They relish entering the very worlds of their seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes and even abstract forms, but, most of al, they cherish their portraits, sharing in the very lives of their subjects. Under the father’s solicitous eye, and with their motherly estate keeper’s assistance, the exceptional son grows in wisdom and stature, extending his wealth to whomever wants it. What becomes of this son? And what later becomes of the treasures when the father decides to offer his immensely vast collection at auction? What superlative will be the most superlative of all? The man who wins the auction for the Portrait of the Son is in for the surprise of his life, and the would-be bidders witness a miracle of conversion.
This is the third volume in a trilogy of The Theological Virtues--faith, hope, and love--which began with THE WEIGHT OF A MASS, A Tale of Faith, and TAKE IT TO THE QUEEN, A Tale of Hope. Printed on the front and back underflaps are theological insights into the text and art of this story for all ages, for the true protagonists are the Persons of the Holy Trinity, the seen and unseen world of Creation, and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

by Fr David E. Rosage
This is a book of letters for all altar boys who, from the smallest one up, are the most important people in their parishes. God's Minutemen is what the author affectionately calls them, for he knows that they are always ready for duty as altar boys, no matter what the personal cost. The author writes this book with the hope that in these letters all acolytes may find encouragement to continue being loyal and faithful in their service of our Lord. Father Rosage shows them that while serving Mass is the greatest honor and the biggest job in the parish, it does demand sacrifice. He knows that being on call for duty isn't always easy, and he aims at convincing the boys who have to get up on cold winter mornings to serve early Mass of the great privilege that is theirs.
Written in an easy flowing style intelligible to even the very young boys, the book is full of helpful pointers about the correct manner of serving, the necessity of being on time, and many other details on which a boy may slip. It offers inspiration and high motivation for living up to the ideals that a Mass server is committed to follow. An extremely practical book, it leaves not one phase of the altar boy's life untouched. . .

A Tale of Hope
by Josephine Nobisso
With exquisite artwork and evocative text, this original fable explores the events of Jesus' life, and demonstrates the role of the Virgin Mary as the benevolent agent of God's people. Reduced to desolation by a king and prince who feel they have been wronged, the residents of a once-favored village must seek help from the queen, a native of their devastated town. Religious subjects are presented clearly in an allegorical style that proves entertaining, and also serves to provide children with examples of virtue and good behaviour.

A VISUAL AND SCRIPTURAL MEDITATION ON THE ROSARY.
A top favorite of young children and adults! Booklet includes over 200 original black and white illustrations (one for each bead!) by Mr. Michael Buccino. The artist began these drawings to help his children meditate more easily on the Rosary. "I came up with the idea that if they had a book with pictures it might keep their minds on meditating while they were praying and would be better able to concentrate on the Rosary. So I got started working on the Rosary Album, which took me 18 years to put together. The book has brought the rosary to life."
There is a picture and scripture verse for each bead. The Litany of Our Lady (with illustrations) is also woven into each mystery. For all ages.

Around 1628, during the Thirty Years' War, a small statue of the Infant Jases was given to a Carmelite monastery in Prague. The monastery was soon abandoned when an army invaded the city. In 1637, Father Cyril found the broken statue and heard the words, :The more you honour Me, the more I will bless you."
Today, many people visit Prague to see this statue, and replicas can be seen in churches and homes around the world. Reading this story about the Infant Jesus of Prague can help us see the blessings given to those who have a devotion to the Infant Jesus. We can learn to honour Jesus by our good lives, by our good example, and by our prayers!
