The Last Supper, one of Da Vinci's most iconic works, has survived the carelessness of people, devastations of war, and the ravages of mother nature for centuries.

Though it did not escape unscathed, much of the original detail has been lost. It went through its most successful restoration in the mid-1900s and there is little danger of further loss of detail, as reproductions of been made in nearly every artistic medium.
