Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was head of the Holy Ghost Congregation. He was the first Archbishop of Dakar, The largest city in French Africa and was also the Apostolic delegate of Pope Pius XII for all of French speaking Africa. During this period, he issued a number of letters addressed to the priests and faithful under his care. The letters range from a learned discourse on the "Dangers of Religious Ignorance" to "The Church and it Social and Political Evolution", to a moving and profound written discourse about "Life and Truth".
