Story of St Camillus
by Br Ernest, CSC
In 1550 Camillus was born in Italy. As a young boy he often got into trouble. After his parents died he decided to change the foolish life he was leading. He wanted to join the army but they wouldn't accept him so he started to work in a hospital. There he realized that hospital workers needed to be motivated by charity. Later he became a priest and founded an Order called the Company of the Servants of the Sick. Reading this story can encourage us to follow in the footsteps of St Camillus who saw each person as a child of God and cared for their needs.
